Aku mula2 mengetahui kewujudan filem ini kira2 pada tahun 2000,semasa aku masih menuntut di Kolej Mara, Selangor suatu ketika dahulu. Hype filem Blood In Blood Out ini masih terasa walaupun pada pertama kali aku menonton filem ini, ianya sudah 7 tahun diriliskan haha aiya why am I always late to know about this kind of movie? Filem ini dibintangi oleh beberapa aktor yang kurang dikenali (kecuali Benjamin Bratt yang suatu ketika dahulu pernah menjadi teman lelaki Julia Robert) akan tetapi pembawaan genre Street Gang/ Crime Movie yang diutarakan melalui filem ini amat berkesan sekali dan pada ketika ini, filem ini telah dianggap cult oleh sebahagian peminat filem gengster.

Based on the true life experiences of poet Jimmy Santiago Baca, the film focuses on half-brothers Paco and Cruz, and their bi-racial cousin Miklo. Seriously filem ini mengundang pelbagai kejutan budaya pada zaman aku mengaji di kolej dahulu. Macam2 benda la yang aku tengok, seperti budak2 yang lepak di The Mall, KL masa tu suka dressing macam Latin Thug (baju kemeja petak2 dengan topi kain key di kepala) dan penyebaran lagu2 hip hop latin yang mostly didominasikan oleh band Cypress Hill, Delinquent Habits dan Psycho Realm. This movie still kick ass until today! For Real, homie!
